about

This was the final track on my solo album "La Guitarra Latina" from the year 2000. I make a habit of deleting my albums as the years pass - but occasionally I will release the odd track. Here is one odd track...
The piece (original title "Aconquija") is by Agustin Barrios but on this recording it ended up being rechristened "The Ghost". The reason for this was that I played it on an instrument built by my father Harry Durrant (his only six string guitar - known as "The HarryFerri" based on a Macaferri design) and, although my Dad had passed away three years before the recording was made, he seemed to be very present at the recording session.
As usual so did the ghost of my dear friend Mr Barrios. With Agustin and Harry in the room with me I played a version which the engineer (Paul Cartledge) and I were very happy with. I later added the sound of a crackly record to enhance the feeling of music from "the other side".
I hope you like it!
